This article provides information for managing the box list in the Encircle mobile app. See Packing Contents for more information on box labelling and packing items.
Viewing & Editing Box Details
- Tap the 3 bars at the top right corner of the job.
- Select the Boxes tab.

Search a box name or scan a QR label to open it up.
- You’ll be able to see the full details of that box: its current location, box type, ID, who packed it, and what’s inside it.
- To make changes to the box, tap Edit Details.

Here you can update the box type, the disposition of all items inside, or add internal comments about the box.
Clean / Pack-Back Boxes
When items have been cleaned, there are 2 ways to document a new box, depending on how your org charges for boxes.
Moving Items to a New Box
If your org charges for two separate boxes, it's best to assign the items to a new box via the Bulk Actions menu.
- Tap Bulk Actions.
- Select Move Items to Box.

Enter a new box name manually or scan the QR label.
- Select a Box Type for the new box.
- Tap Confirm when prompted.

The items will be moved to the new box, an the old box will remain on the job with 0 items in it—so that your total box count for those items is 2.
Replacing the Box ID / QR Code
Some Encircle users have a box type called "double box" or something similar for clean boxes. In this case, you wouldn't want your Encircle box count to go up when you put the items in the new box. So instead of moving the items to a new box, you would replace the Box ID or QR Code.
- Tap the Box ID up top or tap Edit Details (and select the box name or QR button).
- Confirm that you wish to replace the Box ID / QR Code when prompted. Doing this will delete the old one from the job and remove it from the record.
- Enter a new box name or scan the new QR code.

Tap Save. *Your total box count for those items will remain at 1.
Scanning QR Labels with Your Phone's Native Camera
You may find a loose box back at the warehouse or the truck, and not know where it belongs or what's inside it. When this happens, simply open up your phone’s native camera and point it at the QR code.
This will automatically launch the Encircle app and take you to the job file where that box is assigned, showing you what's inside, who packed it, and other information to help you know what to do with it.
