Notification Sounds
Notification sounds can help alert you when certain events take place or action is required.
However, notification and toast sounds might have issues when trying to play on different browsers.
The following outlines the settings to mitigate having inconsistent behaviours with sounds on different browsers.
Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
- Login to the Encircle Web App
- Find the lock 🔒 Icon between the browser's Address Bar and the Refresh 🔄 Button
- Click on the lock 🔒 Icon
- Click on ⚙︎ Site settings
- Find 🔊 Sounds and change it to Allow which will automatically save your new setting
- Close the settings tab and go back to the Encircle Web App and refresh the site
Safari
- Login to the Encircle Web App
- Find the browser's Address Bar
- Right-click (or two-finger tap with a touchpad) the Address Bar
- Select Settings for This Website...
- Find Auto-Play and change it to Allow All Auto-Play which will automatically save your new setting
- Click on the Refresh 🔄 Button and refresh the Encircle Web App
Firefox
- Login to the Encircle Web App
- Find the lock 🔒 Icon on the left of the browser's Address Bar
- Click on the lock 🔒 Icon
- Click on the arrow › Button beside 🔒 Connection Secure
- Click on More Information
- Click on the Permissions Button at the top
- Find Autoplay
- Uncheck ☑️ Use Default
- Select Allow Audio and Video which will automatically save your new setting
- Close the small settings window and go back to the Encircle Web App and refresh the site
Internet Explorer
- Should not have issues by default but the setting can be changed
- Click on the ⚙︎ Button on the top right corner of the browser
- Click on Internet options
- Click on Advanced at the top
- Scroll down to Multimedia
- Make sure that the ☑️ Play sounds in webpages is checked
- If it's unchecked, enable it and then click on Apply
- Click on OK to go back to the Encircle Web App and refresh the site
