Creating a Scoping Video

If you're looking to kick your documentation up a notch, consider adding a scoping video to your regular documentation process.

A scoping video is exactly what it sounds like. Take a video while you walk through the details of the loss. Methodically capture key items that fully explain the situation to the adjuster and interested parties.

Make sure to include these key details in your scoping video:

  • Overview of the situation
  • Source of loss
  • Resulting damages
  • Potential additional damages
  • Things that are unknown and may become part of the mitigation or rebuild
  • Description of work to be performed
